Interlaken is a beautiful lush, green & scenic Swiss town. It is surrounded with emerald coloured waters, mountains, dense forests, alpine meadows, glaciers, farms and has many hiking and skiing trails. We went here in Summer, and it was awesome!
To get here we flew into Zurich and drove to Interlaken. We wanted to do the scenic drive, and it was an incredible drive. The scenery and views were so magical and green.
We stayed in an Air Bnb with views of the snowy mountains, tucked just out of the main town. We had a car the entire time, which I recommend.
Things to do:
Get the vertical train to harder kulm: It has an epic view point & icy cold beers
Get the train to Jungfrau “the top of Europe”: There is snow up here (even in summer), it’s very beautiful and you can go on sleds, flying foxes, build snowmen, view frozen ice sculptures & do all kinds of snow activities
Tandem bike along the river and through the alpine forests & farmlands
Go on hikes up mountains & to waterfalls: Our favourite one we did was Staubbach Falls. It had awesome views and is located in Lauterbrunnen (which is an idyllic swiss village)
Do a chocolate making class!
Take the cable cars up to Schilthorn for more snow & awesome views!
Soak up the incredible scenery and relaxed vibes.
Interlaken is one of our favourite towns, and we are so excited to get back here one day soon and show baby Booth all the beauty it has to offer!
