Bellagio (Lake Como, Italy)
Bellagio is a beautiful Italian town, overlooking the water, with charming cobble stone alleys filled with restaurants and boutiques. We highly recommend visiting this town in the summertime on and Italian road trip. The town itself is so small, you can explore it within hours. Therefore I would book a few nights (2-3) in a luxurious Airbnb or hotel and soak up the ambience and views.
Our favourite things to do here are;
Wander the streets and enjoy the picturesque views (The most famous view can be found by walking up Salita Serbelloni to the very end until you reach Via Guiseppe Garibaldi. From this spot you can look down and see the beauty of the street filled with colourful buildings and the water from afar!)
Find the hidden wine bars and amazing places to eat (obviously order pasta and a burrata salad)
Walk over to Punta Spartivento and hire a boat! This spot has amazing views of lake Como and the surrounding towns. Head out on the boat and explore lake Como. Stop at other towns get out and explore or just cruise around and admire the scenery. Either way enjoy the sights and soak it up.
Go for a dip in Lake Como, either from the shore or jump in off the boat!
We had a really delicious meal at Bistrot Restaurant "Antichi Sapori" and a pretty good meal at La Grotta. We have also heard great things about Terazza Barchetta and would try it next time we are in town!
For this town I would take my accommodation recommendations from Jet Set Christina. https://www.jetsetchristina.com/lake-como-italy/
The airbnb’s & hotels look incredible, and we would have 100% stayed in one of them if we could have!! (Book in advance and be organised for this town)
We hope you enjoy this beautiful Italian town,
Kristi & Michael xx
